*Goin' to the Chapel*... Kinda

We forced Libby to try on wedding dresses today so, Bobby, if you happen onto this blog, turn away right now. Here are some of the dresses she tried on and, subsequently, rejected.

She was a really good sport and allowed Mom and I to choose a few for her to try on (hence, the off the shoulder number which is clearly not a Libby dress). I forgot just how heavy a wedding dress is... Ugh! I think she makes a pretty natural bride.

Hosting My First Thanksgiving

This year I hosted my first Thanksgiving! Libby and Bobby, Marla and Granny, my mom, Kevin and I were all present... Along with a couple bottles of wine. Bobby made the turkey, Mom and I took care of the rest. We sang "Johnny Appleseed" with the California part of the family and ended the evening with a viewing of "Up", which is a super cute movie.

Dear Jason Mraz,

I love you! Seriously...
Jaime and I before the concert started and we went on our t-shirt adventure (aka, walking out to buy them).
I will forever wear an I Love G-Love shirt now. Soooooo hot!
You can hardly see it, but there's Jason and G-Love, on stage, dueting. Next time, floor seats!

Then we danced with Jason... So good!

Lib-bay!!!

Libby and Bobby came for a visit and stayed for a couple of hours. We chatted and watched a little of Coraline in 3D. And they brought Roscoe to play with his cousin.

Thanks for stopping in kids! Hope the rest of your trip goes smoothly!

School is soooooooooo hard

So, Fridays I have my expressive arts class at school. And it always reminds me that teaching is fun! This week we did aboriginal art and there are more pictures of our class website of the things that we did (for those of you that follow, I will be sure to show them all to you next time I see you). Anyways, I thought I would share my friend's art piece with you.
That's right. It's me. We did face painting which was pretty awesome. I did a couple of faces that I am very proud of- stay tuned for those. See you all soon!

P.S. I just realized you can't really see it because it's only a thumbnail. Just know that my face was the canvas:)

Dear Friends and Family and Followers of my Blog

Anne and I will be in Long Beach from October 9th-11th. It'll be short and crammed full of stuff. But let me know if you want to hang out.

And for good measure...

A Trip To the Falls

P.S. Please excuse the hideous-ness that is my face. Apparently the weekend means Ugly Time for me!

Playing Catch Up

So, if you are following along, sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I went through a month of not taking very many pictures and getting very bogged down with educational psych work (I am SO glad that's over). Now, I'm on to student teaching, but hopefully I can get back on board with more regular posts. So, I'll include a little bit of catch up.
Starting with August, when Kevin rode the Max (for the first time in seven years).

We went down to Portland Saturday Market with Anne and then rode Max to Pioneer Square for a bathroom break. Kevin survived! We were glad.

During my two week break from school and ST, I made the five hour drive to see my mom in Klamath Falls. We spent a day and a half seeing the sites- I had no idea how much water surrounded the city. (Apparently, I LOVE my pink sweater)

Then, on August 31st, I had my first day of student teaching, without kids- just setting up the classrooms. I felt a celebration was in order so we went with the gang out to dinner. From left to right: Kevin, me, Jaime, Anne, Melly, Mikey and Jenna. (Behind the camera was Jerrod.) This is my new Oregon family. I love them and their patience in listening to my student teaching stories.

Catch up to be continued...

Happy Birthday to Me!

Anne took me to the salon for pedicures- I got a pretty pink color and she got bring purple. Then we went to eat at a local Mongolian Grill. From the front to the back of us at the restaurant: Mikey, Jenna, Anne, Jaime, Melly, me and Kevin. Then we came back to the house for games, beer and cake. Best ever! (Well, minus all the birthdays I spent in California...)

4th of July cont.

After the party, we bought some fireworks and headed to the parking lot of the church down the street. It was a fantastic night!

Happy 4th of July!

We hung out with Anne's family during the day. layed some Apples to Apples. Dipped our toes in the kiddie pool. Ate delicious food. And sang Happy Birthday to her dad (Anne and I made the cake)!

The Beach from Kevin's camera

I have to share some of the picks of Cannon from Kevin's camera... Then I'll be done, I promise!

The Beach (Cont.)

I apologize that these are way out of order but you get the general idea (General Idea... Jaif!)
Then we took a stroll down Cannon Beach to Haystack Rock

In Seaside, we played Fascination at the arcade and had clam chowder down the street. Delish!

The boys tried chocolate covered bacon... I'm pretty sure they were over it after two bites.

A Day At the Beach

Today, we set out for Kevin's first beach trip. The goal was to see Tillamook, Cannon Beach and Seaside. Mission accomplished!

This was at the Blue Heron French Cheese company, next to the Tillamook Cheese Factory. We stopped in briefly for some pretzels dipped in various mustards and brie cheese tasting. We are so.... COOL!

Then it was off to Tillamook to watch cheese being made... Kind of looks like the Coors Brewery from this view.

Kevin tried his very first cheese curd. He liked it.
