We ended up at Overlook Park this afternoon at the Organic Beer Fest... There was good beer, good music and the weather was beautiful! The first picture is me with a chocolate stout.

1st day of school
So yesterday I had school from 8-4. It was the only day that I will be doing that this summer, because we had orientation.
All of my classes are in one building so it's kind of nice. I had what Anne calls our "koom by-ah" class (aka Learning Communities). It's designed to make us appreciate diversity and discuss our experiences in the program so I will have this class the whole year I am there.
I met some nice people and am really hoping to make friends with some of them. My campus is beautiful. It reminds me of U of O but on a smaller scale. It's a looooooooong drive through the country but once you're on campus, it's so well worth it. And everyone kept warning me that traffic home would be a pain- it was LA Sunday morning lite.
Overall, I think this school year will be a great one. It's hard to believe that in one year, my school career will be over.
P.S. If you think of it, please pray for Kevin. He has had a couple of interviews since getting down here but so far, no news of a job. We really need work! Thank you much!

Road Trip! And Moving Day (Part 1)
I was unable to blog the whole way up so I will try to recap.
Day 1 went smoothly. Nate drove the whole way and kept me company. (Thanks again, Nate, for tagging along. It made those 10 hours fly by). We ended, of course, with a not so smooth Motel 6 stop. Our room smelled of smoke, there were beer bottle caps on the floor, a VERY personal conversation taking place just outside of our door and a 3am wake up call given by the pounding on the door next to ours. But it was fun hanging out with Jaif and Melissa for a brief little while.
Day 2 was slower. But we had the best sandwiches ever in Dunsmuir (clearly, those people need to meet more vegetarians though).
Today was sadder. I felt all sentimental unpacking boxes and thinking of life back in the LB. But we unpacked many, many boxes. We bought a new TV. And we put our pencil cross on the top of our door (thanks for that tradition, Uncle Jim. I think it's a great one!). We had dinner with Anne and Jerrod. I'm happy to see that Kevin and Jerrod get along (as do Sawyer and Rocky- thought that may be more of a toleration). And now, Paul and Kevin and I are about to watch episode 1 of HIMYM and rest after a loooooooong day of unpacking.
